My older sister, Niki and her husband were out of town on vacation, so my Mom stayed the night at our house with my sisters three kids. I would have liked to have scheduled Kyle's party when my Dad and sisters could have made it, but it just wasn't possible this year. We made the best of it though and invited some other close friends over for cupcakes and ice cream. Kyle had plenty of help opening presents.
Ben, Lexi, Dani, Brevon, and Justin had a blast with the large foam blocks that my family gave Kyle. In fact, they got down right wild with them. The next day, Kyle had a blast playing with the blocks.
Kyle decided it was too much activity for him and stuck to quieter toys that the big kids weren't fighting over. He decided the stacking activity tower was much more interesting. It lites up and everything.
Since it was an impromptu party, we used the leftover cupcakes from his actual birthday. Nobody complained and Kyle still made a big mess out of it.
