Papa's Farm

Friday, October 2 we went to Papa's farm to see the cows. There is a new renter in the house there and he has all sorts of animals around the yard for the kids to check out. He has horses, ponies, goats, turkeys, chickens, ducks, and rabbits. Ben had to check out these animals, but after the chicken pecked his hand he lost interest. Kyle looked quickly and then asked to go and see the cows. I thought he would do better with the calves, but he preferred the big cows. The tractor and 3 wheeler were fun as well, but the mud puddle brought the most entertainment. We did go on a long 3 wheeler ride through the timber and the field that the cows are currently grazing in. Kyle thought it was great when the cows would have to run out of our way. Ben was squished between Mom and Papa, and was ready for the ride to be over. Ben told Papa that he needed to get some new brakes on that thing (more like brakes in general).

Yes Kyle fell down in the mud, but not till it was time to go. All he would say was "uh-oh." Ben didn't fall down, but the cuffs of his pants were very muddy. Aunt Donna was nice and cleaned them up for him while he was waiting for Papa to check the cows at Great-Grandma's house.

Ben & Brevon went back to the farm on Saturday with Papa while the ladies were at the shower. They discovered the fun of climbing on the big round hay bales. I couldn't believe they were big enough to climb on them already, but Papa said there were some smaller ones in front that they climbed first and then were able to get on the big ones. My little man is growing up and starting to have all the fun on the farm that I used to have with my cousins and sisters :)

Brevon was a little jealous that his sisters got to go and try on pretty dresses for Aunt Bri's wedding. After all, "Ben and Me are going to be reindeer in Aunt Bri's wedding too." I guess when we go back at Christmas we will have to have stuff for the boys to try on for the wedding :)

Kyle was being very fussy all weekend and I decided I didn't want to try to take him to church, so we packed up and went down to Great-Grandma's house to wait for Aunt Donna to get back since she was riding back with us. Ben insisted that we had to check the cows. Kyle climbed right to the top of the gate to take a peek at the cows of course Ben thought that was old news since he has been able to climb a gate for a long time. Mom still thought it was cute though.
